Improper Drainage
Standing water near the home can cause problems, especially if there is wood close to the ground. Having the ground level slope away from the home usually takes care of this.
Another good precaution is to have rain gutters that carry the water from the roof away from the house. I know that houses usually don't come with gutters, but a $500 or $1000 investment can save you many drainage headaches. |

Home sales in Coos County, Oregon dropped off in 2008 by about 28%. This seems to follow the National trend. The interest rates are fluctuating between 6.0% and 6.75%. This offers tremendous opportunities for buyers. Many sellers are offering to BUYdown the interest rate even further for the purchaser to make their particular propery more saleable. This can put the purchasers interest rate below 6%. The desirablity of this area for retirement purposes continues to drive the market. Nationally there is a lot of talk about the many foreclosures on homes. We haven't seen that in our area in 2007 or 2008. In 2007 there were 47 foreclosures County wide. Unfortunately we are now feeling the results on a National scope of too much credit being offered to poor or borderline borrowers, or overeager investors who were betting on continued double-digit appreciation. Many move-up buyers were wanting more housing than they coud realitsically afford. Unfortunately for many people in different states and different stages of life, defaulting on their home loan makes more economic sense than the legal consequences of defaulting on their loan. The rates at CENTURY 21 Mortgage remain low and have continued to hold reasonably steady over the past year. (For current information on interest rates call 1-877-716-0717 or go to www.C21BestRealty.com and look at the section on financing. Our Coos County offices market nearly $90,000,000 worth Real Estate and sell in excess of 1/4th of all homes and building lots which are sold in Coos County. We continue to be the leader in market share here. Our Client Centered Service Team of agents have all helped to to create this success.
